COMMUNICATION?

Communication is a two way process between a sender and a receiver.  Clearly by this you can say communication is quite easy but no it’s actually complex. The transfer of information between a sender and receiver can be affected by various things; our emotions, our mental strengths, our culture mannerisms and even designations. So, communication is not easy it’s extremely hard in a sense you have to convey your ideas and message in a way that your receiver can adapt easily.

ROLE OF COMMUNICATION IN OUR LIVES:

Communication plays a vital role in our day to day life whether as an employee, as a boss, as a customer or even as a student, and a teacher… where we want to convey our ideas effectively to a bunch of audiences. Students need practical and deeper knowledge about the subjects they are learning in schools, Universities and colleges. Communication matters a lot here as the students tends to ask questions to solve their doubts. Similarly when teachers acknowledges where they are confused they will reach out to them and teach them in their style, it will help students to have deep knowledge. That’s why teachers always encourage students to listen to the ongoing topic with full presence of mind in the class. That’s how communication helps students to study well.Communication plays a vital role in our day to day life whether as an employee, as a boss, as a customer or even as a student, and a teacher… where we want to convey our ideas effectively to a bunch of audiences. EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION:

An effective communication is a communication between two or more persons where the intended message is successfully delivered, received and understood.

Effective communication at work is all about knowing your employees and choosing the correct message & channel for transmission. The company’s nature is reflected in the nature of office communications, and business can hinge on effective communication.  Understanding your employee’s role and how they are suitable into your company’s hierarchy is necessary to create effective communications. This information will help you connect better with your audience. According to Zig ziglar :

“In many ways, effective communication begins with mutual respect; communication that inspires encourages others to do their best.”

Choosing the right channel is a vital component to Effective communication. According to an article in Pepperdine University’s Graziadio Business Report, you should consider the pros and limitations of communication channels when sending a message. Then match the interaction with the desired level of involvement. For e.g. most detailed information should be in written manner, while more concise information can be spoken. Further email is an effective tool in certain applications, but doesn’t work well with time sensitive, confidential materials or interactive communications. Sometimes using multiple channels is a effective approach. There are many other things considering work related communication like effective message sharing, considerations toward employees etc.

CONCLUSION:

We have to understand that communication is not only the transaction of information, but also comprehension of it. Even though technologies improve, they do not develop our communication skills; managers of companies can achieve better work results and avoid misunderstandings or conflicts etc. In order to enhance these particular skills, we have to put effort into them.
